Griot! What is a “Griot” (Gree-oo)? Griot is a catch-all term for Africa’s many traditional historians, musicians and storytellers. They recite genealogy. They sing the praises of noble rulers. Griots are also moderators and peacemakers.
This grand legacy continues from African roots in African-American hearts. Our Griots help us to find our own story.
